TURNING LOSS INTO OPPORTUNITY
mission
The Twenty2 Foundation was created with one purpose in mind: to give hope, opportunity, and financial support to young people who have faced some of life’s hardest challenges. Our mission centers around the belief that a child’s future should never be limited by the loss of a parent, financial hardship, or an unstable upbringing. The inspiration behind the foundation comes from real-life experiences, perseverance, and the understanding that many students with incredible potential are forced to put their dreams on hold because they simply do not have the support system or resources they need. The Twenty2 Foundation exists to help change that.At the heart of the organization is the Twenty2 Scholarship, a scholarship program designed to support students who have lost one or both parents, experienced foster care or adoption, or overcome significant personal adversity. The scholarship is intended to help recipients continue their education through college, trade school, technical programs, or other career-building opportunities.Unlike many traditional scholarships that focus only on grades or test scores, the Twenty2 Foundation believes character, resilience, determination, and personal growth matter just as much. We want to recognize students who continue pushing forward despite difficult circumstances and remind them that their story does not define their limitations. The foundation’s long-term vision is bigger than a single scholarship. Twenty2 Foundation aims to build a community of encouragement, mentorship, and support for students who may feel overlooked or alone. Through fundraising, partnerships, sponsorships, and community involvement, the organization plans to grow its impact year after year, increasing scholarship opportunities and creating programs that directly benefit students and families in need. Our goal is simple:
To turn hardship into opportunity and ensure deserving students have a chance to build a better future for themselves.Every donation, fundraiser, sponsorship, and act of support directly contributes to helping students take the next step toward their education and future careers. The Twenty2 Foundation is more than a nonprofit — it is a commitment to investing in resilience, honoring perseverance, and creating opportunities that can change lives for generations to come.
WHY

My name is Jacob Dockery and the Twenty2 Scholarship was created in honor of my father and in support of students who have experienced significant adversity early in life. The scholarship is specifically intended for students who have lost one or both parents and/or gone through adoption or foster care programs. When my father passed away when I was seven years old, our family faced challenges that no child is ever truly prepared for. One thing that made a lasting impact on my future was that my father had life insurance. Looking back, I honestly do not know if I would have had the same educational opportunities or been able to pursue secondary education without that support in place. That experience showed me how much financial stability and opportunity can shape a child’s future after loss and hardship.Having experienced the loss of a parent at a young age myself, I understand how deeply those experiences can affect a child’s life, confidence, and future opportunities. This scholarship was created to help students who have faced those challenges continue pursuing their education, goals, and future with support behind them.Recipients of the Twenty2 Scholarship will be selected based on character, resilience, perseverance, community involvement, and their commitment to overcoming adversity. Financial need and personal life experiences will also be considered as part of the application process. The goal of the scholarship is not only to provide financial assistance, but also to remind students that their story matters, their struggles do not define them, and their future still holds opportunity and purpose.
